Museo Vincenzo Lancia

Il Valsesia Lancia Story, in collaborazione con la Famiglia Lancia, per onorare la figura di Vincenzo Lancia, ha allestito a Fobello una Mostra permanente intitolata al fondatore della prestigiosa casa automobilistica torinese che porta il suo nome.
La mostra si trova al secondo piano del palazzo G. Lancia che lo stesso Vincenzo fece costruire come edificio scolastico. L’eposizione comprende documenti, fotografie, giornali ed oggetti che ripercorrono la vita dell’illustre fobellese e della Lancia.
Il percorso museale è suddiviso in quattro sale che portano i nomi di altrettante famose Lancia: Augusta, Artena, Astura ed Aprilia.
Sala Astura
In questa sala si racconta la storia di Vincenzo Lancia partendo dal padre Giuseppe, che si è distinto per la sua attività nel settore della macellazione e conservazione delle carni, per arrivare ai suoi interessi legati al mondo sportivo con l’avvio dei lavori all’autodromo di Monza o al contributo per l’allestimento del primo giro d’Italia di ciclismo.
Sala Artena
Qui si ripercorre la carriera di pilota di Vincenzo Lancia con alcune delle competizioni che lo hanno visto come protagonista assoluto sia perché vittorioso sia per aver condotto la prova in modo esemplare anche se conclusasi sfortunatamente. Si ricorda tra l’altro la partecipazione alla Gordon Bennett il titolo di vincitore morale ed alla sua prima Vanderbilt osannato dalla stampa anche se non riuscirà a concludere la gara.
Di seguito si parla della sua esperienza di imprenditore e degli stabilimenti Lancia con foto dei reparti produttivi e documenti relativi alla attività.
Sala Augusta
Il percorso finisce con il mondo motoristico e dunque sono presentati i «capolavori» di Vincenzo Lancia e cioè la Lambda e l’Aprilia; a seguire l’Aurelia, successo Lancia del dopo Vincenzo e l’Appia ultima Lancia quando ancora gli stabilimenti erano in mani Lancia.
Si parla anche dei mezzi pesanti con notizie su autocarri e autobus.
Esistono anche informazioni sulla D24 ed il trionfo alla Carrera Panamericana o Messicana.
Sala Aprilia
Questa sala è dedicata alla lettura con la presenza di riviste del mondo motoristico Lancia e non solo.

In honour of Vincenzo Lancia and in collaboration with the Lancia family, Valsesia Lancia Story has organized a permanent exhibition in Fobello to celebrate the prestigious Turin car manufacturer that bears his name. The exhibition can be found on the second floor of the G. Lancia building that Vincenzo had built as a school house. The exhibition includes documents, photographs, newspapers and objects that cover the life of the illustrious native of Fobello and of Lancia. The museum is divided into four rooms that carry the name of the equally famous Lancia models: Augusta, Artena, Astura and Aprilia.
Sala Astura
This room recounts the story of Vincenzo Lancia starting with his father who made a name for himself in the business of butchering and preserving meat. The story continues with Vincenzo’s interest in motor sport with the start of work on the Monza race track and his contribution in the organization of the first Giro d’Italia cycle race
Sala Artena
This room covers the career of Vincenzo Lancia as a racing driver with some of the races in which he left an indelible impression either because he was the victor or because of the exemplary way in which he competed. A particular occasion was his participation in the Gordon Bennet Trophy where his first Vanderbilt was hailed by the press and from which he emerged the moral victor despite not being able to complete the race.
The exhibition continues with Vincenzo’s experience as a businessman and offers a presentation of the Lancia plant with photographs of the workshops and documents related to this activity
Sala Augusta
The exhibition concludes with the automotive world and Vincenzo Lancia’s ‘masterpieces’- the Lambda and the Aprilia, the Aurelia – a post-Vincenzo success and the the Appia – the last model to be produced while the works were still under the control of the Lancia family.
There is material regarding heavy vehicles, tanks and buses.
There is also information regarding the D24 and its victory in the Carrera Panamericana.
Sala Aprilia
This room is dedicated to published material with magazines from the automotive world regarding Lancia and related matters.
